9:30am Meet in the Romantic Zone
We meet in the Romantic Zone and take the city bus toward the river area where the trail begins.
10:00am Arrive at the river trailhead
Once we arrive, we’ll gather for a brief introduction about the area, local nature, and important recommendations before starting the hike.
10:15am – 11:00am Begin the river-side hike
We follow a peaceful path next to the river, surrounded by lush plants, trees, and the relaxing sound of flowing water. Along the way, you may spot birds, butterflies, fish, and other local wildlife. Your guide will share interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the region.
11:00am – 12:00pm Arrive at Palo María Waterfall
After about 35 minutes of hiking, we reach the beautiful Palo María waterfall. Enjoy time to swim in the cool, fresh water, take photos, explore the area, relax, and enjoy the natural scenery.
12:00pm – 1:00pm Begin the walk back
We head back along the same path, continuing to appreciate the
peaceful nature of the river and surrounding jungle.
1:00pm – 2:00pm Return to Puerto Vallarta
We take the city bus back to the Romantic Zone, where the tour concludes.

This is a beginner trail, suitable for most people.

Some short sections require walking over rocks.

During the rainy season (July–September), we may need to cross the river a few times.

The activity is safe as long as you wear proper footwear and follow the guide’s instructions.

Water shoes or hiking sandals with good grip are highly recommended.
